History of the Guitaround Travel Guitars

Is it art? Is it sculpture? Is it a musical instrument? The answer is - "YES!" It's Guit-Art!

Inventor, Musician, Magician, Artist Julian Oteyza built a travel guitar as a result of missing his guitar while he was traveling all over the country. Although there were other earlier travel guitars in existence, he decided to build one that suited his artistic tastes. His first model which is not shown here, and one which he got a patent for, was a full sized guitar with a removable fretboard section. This fretboard was playable by itself because the pickups were attached to it and it had a built-in headphone amplifier. From this evolved the guitars that are shown in this site. Loud speakers were added to some of the models.
